Intensive Hosting Offers Preferred Pricing Plan for Migrating Customers
SAN ANTONIO - February 28, 2003 - Intensive Hosting, the enterprise hosting division of Rackspace Managed Hosting, today announced its Managed Relocation Program for companies currently hosted with bankrupt or financially-distressed service providers. Intensiveís Managed Relocation Program makes it easier for companies hosted with at risk service providers to move their mission-critical sites to a stable provider. Companies that relocate to Intensive Hosting will receive up to a three-month credit to offset the extra costs associated with paying two hosting providers during the migration period.
"The recent bankruptcy filing by Divine and data center closures by other service providers pose a serious threat to their customers," said Graham Weston, president, Intensive Hosting. "While many major companies have already abandoned their struggling hosters and moved to a stable service provider, some IT professionals have delayed moving due to the expense and hassle of migration. The Managed Relocation Program provides customers with a seamless migration path and enables them to make a fresh start with a stable and growing hosting provider."
Rackspaceís financial stability has been a key factor in winning customers away from struggling competitors for the past two years. During 2002, the company grew by 45 percent with revenues of $40 million. Rackspace has also been profitable for two full years.
Intensiveís Managed Relocation Program provides customers with a proven "step-by-step" migration path to help ensure a successful relocation and the continuity of their online presence. The program begins with migration planning by a technical team, covering issues related to database migration, domain and DNS control, mail services and ISP services. Prior to decommissioning the customerís site at their failing service provider, a new hosting solution based on Dellís latest generation of PowerEdge servers will be provisioned at one of Intensive Hostingís data centers. In the event that a customer owns the equipment deployed with their current provider, Intensive will manage the disposition of the customerís equipment and apply service credits for the disposition value.
Intensive Hosting provides the seven vital elements to proactive hosting, known as the ProActive7TM. They are the key services required for any complex Microsoft Web site. Intensive Hostingís ProActive7 consists of Security and Patching, Managed Backup, Server Administration, Reporting and Trending, Deep Monitoring, Rapid Deployment and Scaling and a Managed Superstructure. Launched as an alternative to Digex, Intensive takes care of the Internet infrastructure while freeing a companyís IT department to focus on the application that runs their business.
